Biography

Dr Abidah Setyowati is a human-environment geographer, currently working as research fellow at the Australian National University’s School of Regulation and Global Governance in the College of Asia and the Pacific.

Dr Setyowati's research focuses on climate and natural resources governance, energy governance and access as well as climate finance in Asia, particularly in Indonesia.

Prior to joining ANU, Dr Setyowati has worked as an international development practitioner and policy advisor for various multilateral agencies in Southeast Asia such as UNEP, UNDP, FAO, USAID, ADB, among others.

Research

Research interests

In terms of energy issue, Dr Setyowati's research interests include energy governance and access.  With Regnet, Dr Setyowati engages in the research project entitled “Harnessing financial markets and institutional investment to increase the take up of renewable energy in Asia Pacific”.
