M.S. Meteorology, B.S. Meteorology

I am an Associate Lecturer at the Fenner School of Environment and Society at The Australian National University. I am a meteorologist with a passion for research at the intersection of real-world problems and atmospheric science. That's what led to my interest in solar energy. My current focus is on solar energy forecasting, wherein I am working to generate estimates of the power output from large groups of distributed solar energy systems (aka the solar panels on your roof!). To make this happen, I am working with the NICTA Machine Learning Research Group on a project funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Research interests

  • Energy Meteorology
  • Small Scale Solar Energy
  • Solar Energy Forecasting
  • Machine Learning
  • Severe Weather
  • Energy Economics
